Youth Leadership Training on Peace and Security for Finalists and Graduating Former Student Leaders

In 2023, the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (JNLC), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development (MoGLSD), organized a Guild Leaders’ Training at Protea Hotel from 24th July to 4th August. Conducted in two cohorts, the training engaged 86 guild leaders (27 female, 59 male) from fifteen(15) universities across Uganda. The training aimed at equipping participants with leadership skills necessary to address Uganda’s evolving economic, political, and social challenges while fostering mindset transformation and encouraging personal growth.In 2024, building on this foundational success, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Regional Programme on Security Dialogue for East Africa and Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (JNLC) organized a trans-formative Youth Leadership Training on Peace and Security for Finalists and Graduating Former Student Leaders from 3rd to 5th December. The three-day program was designed to equip participants with essential leadership skills to actively contribute to peaceful communities, prepare for the workforce, and effectively engage in development, peace, and security initiatives.
