Day 2 Highlights – Comprehensive Youth and Young Women Leadership Training Programme
We at the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre remain steadfast in our mission to nurture a new generation of leaders who are morally grounded, ideologically...
The Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre is named after the former President of Tanzania, the late H.E. Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere. It was established on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
By contextualizing problems and their solutions, the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre draws from a wide variety of approaches, that include, innovative policy leading research, quality dialogues, youth training and mentoring, providing an important platform for distinguished African intellectuals, scholars, other accomplished Africans to share, nurture, mentor, challenge and account to the next generation of African leaders.
We aim to develop a lasting legacy platform for knowledge production and sharing, learning and leadership development in Africa. Our current scope of programming includes these project areas:
The anti-colonial activist, the politician, the unifier, and the theorist. Discover H.E. Mwalimu Julius Nyerere’s journey and how it has impacted many.
“Nyerere’s qualities contributed to the victory of all African freedom fighters ”
– HE Yoweri Museveni
"Unity will not make us rich, but it can make it difficult for Africa and the African peoples to be disregarded and humiliated. And it will, therefore, increase the effectiveness of the decisions we make and try to implement for our development.
My generation led Africa to political freedom. The current generation of leaders and peoples of Africa must pick up the flickering torch of African freedom, refuel it with their enthusiasm and determination, and carry it forward"
