From the exchanging  goats for gold, to money for food and a lack of an alternative source of livelihood after the decades long disarmament process, the Karamojong women have been forced to endlessly sweat in the mines to make ends meet for their families in the artisanal gold mines. the women mainly work crushing, grinding and panning the gold though some dig underground but what the pay for the gold seems inadequate to sustain families
