Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (JNLC) was privileged to welcome H.E. Jakaya Kikwete, the Former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, to our institution, established to commemorate the legacy of the late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, on the initiative of H.E. President Yoweri K Museveni.
Dr. Nansozi Muwanga, Executive Director of JNLC, and Mr. Andrew Tumusiime, a Board Member of JNLC, extended a warm welcome to H.E. Jakaya Kikwete, accompanied by Maj. Gen. Paul Simuli, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Uganda, as they visited the center.
Former President Kikwete’s visit holds significance not only for the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre but also for the broader academic and leadership community in Uganda. His visit symbolizes a shared commitment to nurturing leadership excellence and fostering cross-border collaboration in Africa.
During his visit, Former President Kikwete also graced the #GuildLeadersSummit2024 at Makerere University as the chief guest. The summit, held at the Yusuf Lule CTF2 Auditorium, brought together emerging and established leaders to explore the theme “Legacy and Leadership: The Power of Knowledge and Cross-Generational Learning.”
