The opening speech of the symposium was delivered by the fourth and current secretary General of the commonwealth . while briefly looking back at the secretariat’s historical contribution since since its creation in 1965, as well as that of the foundation, his speech looked at the current relevance of the commonwealth and its potential future impact.
