From the beginning it was concerned with questions about political organization and relationships on a global scale, and particularly about the prospects of war and peace, which were central to the future of mankind. This appraisal by twelve contributors from departments of Politics and International Relations is a timely reminder of the variety of ideas produced in the discipline.
