In a significant event held today at Yusuf Lule Auditorium, Makerere University, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) unveiled the Human Development Report 2023/24 (#HDR2024) under the theme “Breaking the Gridlock: Reimagining Cooperation in a Polarized World.”
The report underscores the imperative of reimagining cooperation in a polarized world to navigate the challenges of today’s dynamic and global economy. In the report Uganda is celebrated for transforming from the least developed country to the low middle income Country.
Dr. Nansozi K. Muwanga(PhD), the Executive Director of the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (JNLC) was one of the eminent panelists and during the panel session, she emphasized the importance of collaboration among Global South countries. She highlighted key strategies including establishing regional platforms for knowledge exchange, facilitating trade and investment, providing capacity building, sharing technology, aligning with SDGs, collaborating on climate action, fostering triangular cooperation, and mobilizing financial resources. These efforts aim to promote inclusive development and economic growth through shared experiences and collective action.
