The Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (JNLC) in partnership with the Office of the Dean of Students, Makerere University, held a two-days Makerere University’s 88th Guild Induction and Leadership Workshop Program from January 12th- 13th, 2023 at Fairway Hotel, Kampala. The second day of the induction workshop on January 13th, 2023 was hosted and facilitated with a leadership training by the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (JNLC).
The training was fully attended by 136 Makerere University Student’s Guild leaders. The Rationale of the training was to provide Student Leaders with an understanding of both formal and informal basic transformative leadership skills needed to enable them to effectively serve and influence policies and programmes during their tenure of service at Makerere University.
The Objectives of this training;
1. To introduce Student Leaders to the Key Characteristics of Effective Leadership
2. To enhance through discussion a shared understanding of leadership roles and responsibilities
3. To enhance personal leadership traits of student leaders to effectively self-lead self and impact others to advance student welfare and career growth.
Professor Barnabas Nawangwe, Vice Chancellor, Makerere University, who officiated at the closure of the Guild Induction and Leadership Workshop commended the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (JNLC) for its comprehensive Leadership Training Programme.
