Executive Director of the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre, Dr Nansozi Muwanga also the patron of Makerere University Red Cross Chapter and the Secretary General of the AFRO-ARAB Youth Council, Hon Dr. Abbas Agaba, earlier officiated a community service exercise in Katanga jointly organized by the Makerere Red Cross Chapter.
The exercise that started at 7:30am was graced by the presence of Hon. Mariam Nalubega and Dr Faizo Ssekindi A, LC3 Councilor Makerere University. Katanga Slum is a settlement located in the valley between Mulago Hospital and Makerere University, in Uganda’s Capital City, Kampala. A couple of items were also donated to the community and the Red Cross conducted a blood donation exercise and also sensitized the community about the new EBOLA Outbreak.
Musasizi Agnes the President of the Makerere Red Cross Chapter and Namatiti Sophia the representative from Afro ARAB Youth Council led a team of volunteers and students to Katanga to embark on the community exercise.
