This report summarizes the deliberations of the Presidential Lecture Series convened by the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre on 0608 June 2023 in Kampala, Uganda. The Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre was established in October 2018 on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in honour of the legacy of the late H.E. Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, to establish intergenerational dialogue on African history, the study of Africa’s revolutionary movements, and as a centre for knowledge and research. This years’ event was organised in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, and the School of Women and Gender Studies, Makerere University, under the theme ‘Celebrating Women, Pan-Africanism and Community.’ The Keynote speaker was Her Excellency Fatoumata Jallow-Tambajang, a Gambian politician, activist, and former Vice President.
